This weekend, Jefferson will be in town as a future Wildcat to watch the Red and Blue game and is excited to see his future teammates.
"It will be fun to get back down there," Jefferson said. "I had a great visit when I was down there earlier this summer and it was one of the reasons I decided to commit.
"Coach Miller feels I can fit in well and hopefully make an early contribution because I really take pride in my defense and getting others involved."
While Jefferson wants to have fun, he also has something specific in mind for his visit.
"I'm looking forward to becoming even more familiar with the basketball program and campus and getting to know my teammates better," he said.
Jefferson is working on his overall game in order to be ready to make an instant impact next year.
"I know what I have to work on," Jefferson said. "Coaches have told me that it is unusual for someone my age to focus on defense and passing, and I take pride in that. But I have to get better at shooting and getting stronger.
"I'm doing everything possible from shooting a ton of extra shots to hitting the weights hard. Plus, I'm working on drills the coaches have said will make me better."
Jefferson is counting down the days until he officially becomes a Wildcat.
"I'm going to make the most out of this next year," Jefferson said. "However, I'm already envisioning playing college ball and getting out there in front of all those fans."
