McLaughlin was also able to talk with the players and coaches and it's safe to say he had a good time.
"I got to talk with the players and coaches," McLaughlin said. "It was a fun time. Coach Miller said he would really like me to become a Wildcat and be one of the big parts of the class."
McLaughlin has seen his stock rise since the summer and his skills will now allow him to have a choice from numerous top schools.
"There are a few schools I'm looking at," McLaughlin said. "Besides Arizona, I'm looking at USC, UCLA, San Diego State, Stanford, UNLV, and Indiana.
"I've visited USC, UCLA, Arizona, and I'm visiting Stanford next month on December 8. That's the only visit I have scheduled right now."
Academics will play a key role in McLaughlin's decision.
"Basketball is a factor, but so is academics," McLaughlin said. "I want to go to a place where I can get a good degree. I don't have any time frame for a decision, but I want to find out about each school's academics."
McLaughlin's focus will soon be on his junior season and he has high hopes for it.
"I want to win a CIF and state championship," McLaughlin said. "We have to play 110 percent, which we are capable of doing; we just have to do it. I also want to play well in the big games and hopefully lead my team to some big wins.
"Individually, I'm focusing on defense. I want to pick up the opposing point guard full court and pick his pocket. Defense is a huge emphasis of mine this year."
