In-state lineman keeping option open

Junior offensive lineman Austin Hall holds an offer from Arizona. Read on for his thoughts on the offer, his other options, and more.

The 2014 Arizona high school football class is one of the deepest in recent years and it's loaded with high-quality offensive lineman.

Rich Rodriguez is trying to make an early impression on these recruits and one of those notable prospects is Phoenix Brophy Prep offensive tackle Austin Hall.

Although Hall plays for one of the most dominant programs in the state, he wasn't happy with how this past season went.

"We fell a little short this year," Hall said. "We had a talented team, but we weren't able to get everything on the same page before the season ended.

"Overall, I thought I played well. This past year I've grown considerably as a player. I've gotten stronger. I also learned how to prepare and take training seriously. It won't be long before I enter college, so I'm working hard to get as big and fast as possible."

Hall is still in the very early stages of the recruiting process.

"I honestly don't have any favorites right now," Hall said. "I haven't taken any officials either. There are a few good schools recruiting me and I don't want to exclude anyone because I'm wide open."

Expect Arizona to pursue Hall to the end of his recruitment.

"I've talked with the Arizona coaches," Hall Said. "Everything has been complimentary. They've let me know they like my game and how I play. They want me to get down there and see the school and check everything out."
