Mike Rosario started the scoring with two free-throws, but Kaleb Tarczewski came back with an easy layup. Nick Johnson then added two free-throws, but Florida got the lead with a three-pointer by Erik Murphy. Mark Lyons countered with a three of his own before Rosario nailed one as well. Kenny Boynton and Scottie Wilbekin then scored their first points, as the Gators led 12-7 with 15:54 left.
Murphy drove by Grant Jerrett to put the Gators up seven, but Solomon Hill got it right back at the free-throw line. Rosario found himself open for a jumper the next trip down court to give UF the 16-9 lead with under 13 minutes left. Kevin Parrom was able to score to cut it down to five and force Florida to call timeout up 16-11 with 10:04 left.
Will Yeguete scored his first points of the game shortly after, but Tarczewski came right back with a dunk. Lyons then added a layup to cut the Florida lead to three. A basket by Murphy brought it right back to five with 6:54 left, but Lyons scored off a turnover to cut the UF lead to three. Rosario went to the line the next time down court and made both of his free-throw attempts to make it 22-17.
A three-pointer by Wilbekin extended the lead to eight before Patric Young made a layup to put it at ten. Hill got to the line and made both of his attempts, but a Murphy three-pointer gave the Gators their biggest lead of the night with 3:34 left in the first half. Jordin Mayes got to the line and cut the lead to nine before Young got it right back in the paint.
Johnson hit a three-pointer with over a minute left in the half and followed with another after a UF turnover to cut the Gators' lead to 32-27 with about 50 seconds left. Hill then forced a turnover and nailed a dunk as Arizona went into the half only down 32-29.
Murphy and Hill exchanged three-pointers to start the half, but Rosario and Young scored consecutive hoops to put the gators up seven with 16:43 left in the second half. Johnson cut back into the Florida seven-point lead with two free-throws, but a Rosario floated was the answer. Hill then hit a three-pointer the next time down court and UF answered with a three by Casey Prather.
Yeguete was able to get a big dunk, but was called for a technical for hanging on the rim. Hill hit both free-throws, but a three-pointer by Wilbekin made it 49-39 in favor of the Gators with under 14 minutes left. Lyons brought it back to single-digits with two free-throws, but Yeguete hit a layup to bring the Gators' lead to 10 with 12:14 left.
Jerrett hit a baseline jumper to bring the UF lead to eight, but Rosario's three-pointer put it right back at 11. Parrom responded with a three-point play to cut the UF lead to nine and picked up a steal, dishing it to Johnson for the bucket. On the next possession, Parrom found Jerrett for a baseline jumper, but Boynton hit a three to put Florida up seven.
Hill answered with a basket and Arizona forced a turnover on a five-second call with 7:24 left and down 57-52. Young took advantage of an Arizona turnover with a bucket in the paint, but a three-pointer by Johnson made it a four-point game.
Tarczewski fouled out shortly after and the gators hit two from the line to take a 62-55 lead with 5:27 left. Lyons hit a three-pointer to cut Florida's lead to three with 3:50 left.
A minute later, a Wilbekin three-pointer extended the lead to six and Johnson missed two free-throws with 2:21 left in regulation.
The scoring stopped until the 56 second mark when Parrom made two free-throws to cut the UF lead to 64-60. Arizona picked up a steal and Hill nailed a layup to cut the lead to two before a foul on Jerrett put him at the line with 26 seconds left.
Jerrett made one of two free-throws to make it 64-63 and Boynton was fouled soon after, as he missed his free-throw.
Lyons was able to get down the court and hit a layup with seven seconds left, Arizona's defense stood its ground and the Wildcats somehow came up with the win.
