"Our season went great," Garner said. "We accomplished our goal to win state and we were able to do that.
"Granted, we have a pretty talented team but at the same time you still have to go out there and perform. Everyone feels if we do well as a team we should be alright big picture."
Coaches have noticed Garner's contributions to a state championship team.
"Arizona is the only school to offer me right now, but I've seen an increase in recruiting attention," Garner said. "I'm hearing from some other schools, but I really like what Arizona is doing.
"The coaching staff believes I can play in the slot and possibly make an impact in special teams."
In order to make an impact at the next level, Garner must continue to work on his strength.
"My biggest downfall right now is my lack of strength," Garner said. "At the high school level it doesn't hurt me too much, but I know as I step up in competition it will be an issue.
"I plan to spend all summer working hard in the weight room and put on as much solid muscle as possible."
In addition to working on his skills, there is a good chance that Garner will look closer at his recruitment.
"This summer I'm going to just work on my skills and look further into my recruitment," he said. "The next year is going to be pretty important for me and I want to make sure I make a good decision that I can live with the rest of my life.
"I still have a ways to go before I decide on anything, but Arizona has made a good impression."
