"I could not have asked for anything more from this visit," Mekari said. "I enjoyed it more than when I visited earlier because I was able to talk with the coaches at length and talk with some of my future teammates."
Mekari says that the highlight of his visit was being able to talk to the coaches and see them in a different light.
"Being around the coaches in that kind of an informal setting was fun," he said. "Coach Rodriguez just talked to us about the expectations for next year.
"I was always solid on my commitment to Arizona, but this visit just blew me away because all the other recruits visiting were ready to go and start practicing."
The coaching staff's pitch and demeanor impressed Mekari.
"The thing I really like about Coach Rodriguez is that he doesn't promise anything to anyone," Mekari said. "That's what I'm looking for. I don't want anything handed to me and I want to get playing time because I earned it."
While Mekari knows his future at Arizona is about football, he also appreciates the other aspects of it.
"The coaches are cool guys who you can talk with about a lot of different things," he said. "Don't get me wrong, football is the top priority, but the staff wants to help develop well-rounded people.
"You can tell big things are happening there because of the success they had last year and the enthusiasm heading into next year."
Despite more offers rolling in, Mekari feels comfortable at Arizona.
"I'm not taking any more visits," Mekari said. "I've gotten more recruiting attention, but it doesn't really matter because I'm totally committed to becoming an Arizona Wildcat and helping this program reach the next level."
