Carrington looking at options

Darren Carrington took an official visit to Arizona this past weekend. Read on for his thoughts on the visit, his next step, and more.

Now that Chip Kelly has finally left for the NFL, many Oregon recruits are looking around at other schools.

Arizona, along with every other Pac-12 school, is recruiting players like San Diego Horizon athlete Darren Carrington.

Carrington committed to Oregon last year, but is now looking around at other schools.

"I'm trying to look at all my options right now," Carrington said. "I don't really know what direction I'm going to take, so right now I'm looking at what's out there."

Carrington visited UA this past weekend and came away with a better knowledge of the program.

"Arizona was a place I wanted to visit and I had a good time," Carrington said. "I got to talk with the coaches and tour the school a little bit."

Should he choose Arizona, Carrington feels he would be a good fit in its offense.

"They like fast athletes and think I can help, so that was good to hear," he said. "I would like to play in an up-tempo system, so the visit showed me something and the campus was nice."

Carrington isn't sure where his recruitment will take him, but he can likely attend the school of his choice.

"A lot of stuff is kind of up in the air right now," Carrington said. "A bunch of good schools are interested in me and I was planning on going to a certain school for a few months and then the coach changed, so I'm just checking out different schools.

"I'm open to going to the best school for me and distance won't be a factor in my decision."
