Solomon Hill opened up the scoring for Arizona and Nick Johnson added one free-throw before Jason Washburn hit a bucket for Utah. Kaleb Tarczewski answered with a shot in the post, but Cedric Martin came up with a three-point play to tie the game at five with 15:15 left in the first half. Ashley made two free-throws out of a timeout, but Jeremy Olsen responded with a basket. Ashley then scored again and the Utes followed with another response on a jumper by Washburn.
Hill responded with a three-pointer and Chol made a nice hook shot to put the Wildcats up 14-9 with 11:08 left in the first half. Shortly after, Martin and Grant Jerrett exchanged threes before Tarczweski made one of two free-throws. Glen Dean then hit two from the line before Hill and Jarred DuBois exchanged threes. Tarczewski proceeded to make a layup and Mark Lyons added a three-pointer that forced Utah to call timeout down 26-17 with 6:27 left.
Ashley and Washburn exchanged baskets before Olsen tried to get the Utes going with a hook shot to bring Utah within 28-21. However, Jerrett responded with a three-pointer and Lyons added two free-throws before Olsen scored close to the basket again. Brandon Taylor added a layup before the half and Arizona went into halftime up 33-25.
Tarczewski and Lyons scored consecutive baskets to start the half before DuBois nailed a three-pointer. Parrom and Lyons then scored consecutive hoops and DuBois hit two free-throws before an Ashley two-point basket put Arizona up 43-30 with 15:45 left in the second half.
Jordan Loveridge made two free-throws out of a timeout and Washburn added a three-point play before a three-pointer by Johnson put Arizona back up 11. Loveridge scored again to put to back in single digits before Ashley picked up a steal and layup to put Arizona up 48-37 with 11:52 left in the second half. Olsen scored out of the timeout, but Parrom was able to make one of two free-throws to extend the lead to ten.
Olsen proceeded to make a layup and Dakarai Tucker hit a three-pointer to force Sean Miller to take a timeout only up five. Tarczewski scored out of the timeout, but DuBois hit a three-pointer the next trip down court and Olsen made a layup to force another timeout with the Utes only down 51-49 with 8:44 left.
Washburn scored off an offensive rebound out of a timeout, but Hill answered with a shot inside to put Arizona up two with about six minutes left in the second half. Lyons then added a three-point play before a three by Tucker cut the UA lead to two with 4:29 left. Parrom extended the lead to 58-54 with a score on an offensive board.
Loveridge made one of two from the line out of a timeout to bring the Utes to within three before Lyons got to the rim and put the lead back up to five. DuBois responded with two free-throws, but a basket by Parrom kept the UA lead at five with about 1:33 left. DuBois once again got to the line and made one of two attempts, but a Lyons layup gave Arizona the 64-58 lead.
Washburn made one of two free-throws to bring Utah within five, but Lyons made two from the line with 20 seconds left to put the Wildcats up 66-59.
After two free-throws by DuBois, Lyons did the same to seal the game.
