Winslow getting closer

Justise Winslow's list currently sits at ten, but he is getting closer to narrowing it down. Read on to see where Arizona stands, what his criteria will be, and more.

Not many players had better performances at EYBL Los Angeles than 6-foot-6, 210-pound Houston St. John's forward Justise Winslow.

Winslow got off to a slow start because of a recent knee injury, but says that he is in the process of getting it better.

"It was a sprained MCL, but now it feels good," Winslow said. "The doctor told me that the best way to get it stronger is rehabbing and to keep doing my weights and playing on it, knowing my limits."

As far as recruiting goes, Winslow continues to host numerous schools on in-home visits and his recruitment has gained steam because of it.

"It started to pick up with the in-home visits," he said. "It is at ten right now and I hope to narrow it down by the end of the summer before July or something. I am enjoying it. It is fun, but right now I am at ten and looking to narrow it down.

One of the schools that recently visited Winslow is Arizona and the five-star forward says that the Wildcats' pitch is clear.

"They tell me that I am that key to getting to the Final Four," he said. "They have been to an Elite 8 and a Sweet 16, but Sean Miller tells me that I am that missing piece to help them get to the Final Four."

As Winslow goes through the recruiting process, he has a good idea of what he is looking for in a school.

"I think for me just somewhere I can feel comfortable on and off the court with a good education," Winslow said. "Pretty much all the schools have that, but just feeling comfortable with the coaches, players, campus and a place where I will be comfortable for four years."

Winslow does not have any visits planned, but says that he wants to check out UCLA now that the Bruins have a new coaching staff.

"I am working on one unofficial with UCLA because they have a new coaching staff," he said. "I have already visited there, but I kind of want to get a feel for how Coach Alford and his staff do things."

It is possible that once Winslow visits UCLA, he will be done taking visits and proceed towards ending his recruitment.

"That is something I have thought about," Winslow said of taking official visits. "There is kind of not really a need to because I have been so many places so many times.

"If I have not decided, then why not? Just so I can be sure of my decision. Ideally I want to decide before the November signing period, so I guess I want to decide before then."
