White wants to visit

Forward Paul White wants to take an official visit to Arizona. Read on to see the other schools involved, where the Wildcats stand, and more.

Chicago Whitney Young forward Paul White is currently participating in EYBL with Meanstreets and is looking to make an impact and show how he has improved since this time one year ago.

"I would probably say that I know my game a little bit better and know what my specialties are," White said. "At times I would try to do way too much and something I just could not do.

"Over the course of the school season I found what my identity is and I have been working on it from there. I feel like I have done a pretty good job."

White's recruitment has not died down and he is at the point where he is starting to look at it from a different perspective.

"Things have started to get close to where I have to start cutting down schools," he said. "Recruiting wise, I have been hearing from plenty of schools, but I have also started to cut schools off in my head.

"I have not really told my parents or made an official list, but I am starting to see what schools I like the most."

Arizona is among those schools and although White is not ready to give out his list, he did name numerous schools that he will try to put on it.

"Arizona, Marquette, Florida, UConn, and some other schools, but those are the schools that are keeping in contact with me the most," White said. "I am going to make an effort to keep them on my list."

In terms of Arizona, White says that the Wildcats have a lot of things going for them, which makes their recruitment intriguing.

"They have a great program," he said. "They let their players play. Sean Miller does a great job of getting his players ready for college and the NBA Draft.

"With a player like me, he likes versatility on his team. I would like to go to a school where I can use my skills to the best of my ability and it looks like if I go to Arizona, he would let me do that."

White is looking at which schools he would like to visit and it seems that he is getting closer to figuring out that part of his recruitment.

"Definitely by the end of the summer and maybe even sooner," White said of when he wants to cut his list. "I want to take official visits before I make my decision.

"I don't want to go into it blindsided or feel like I missed out on something. I want to use all my resources and make a wise decision."

As of now, White knows of two schools he would like to visit and what he will be looking for in a school when he does.

"I am pretty sure the official visits will include Florida and Arizona unless something else changes," he said. "Those are probably the two schools I want to take official visits to.

"I will be looking at how the coaches interact with their players, the type of environment the campus is, how the student body interacts with the players, and what type of school work and how studies are set up. I want to feel comfortable wherever I am going."
