Cobb knows what he wants

Jamardre Cobb is one of the best players in the west and knows what he wants in a school. Read on to see what that is, when he will likely decide, and more.

There are very few linebackers on the west coast more talented than Los Angeles (Calif.) Salesian standout Jamardre Cobb, and the Arizona coaches have made sure Cobb knows they're interested in him.

"The Arizona coaches just watched me in 7-on-7 drills," said Cobb. "We didn't really talk or anything, but they've let me know they like my game and think I'm good."

While many top prospects are traveling all over the country during the summer, Cobb plans on taking it easy.

"I've got a lot of time this summer to look more at schools," Cobb said. "I'm not really doing any camps or anything and the only visit I for sure know that I'm going on is to California."

As Cobb looks at his options, he believes that distance from home will not play a role in his decision.

"Distance will not factor into my decision, so I would imagine when the time comes I will be taking visits all over the country," he said.

Cobb has a general idea of what he's looking for in a school.

"There are a couple things I want in a school," Cobb said. "Obviously, I want to go to a place with good academics and I really want a place that has a fun atmosphere at school and at the games."

In addition, Cobb wants to go to a school with a positive football environment.

"I've worked hard to get to this point and I want to go to a place where the fans like their football team," he said.

In terms of a decision, Cobb does not know when he will end his recruitment. However, he does have a general idea.

"I'm not completely sure when I will decide," he said. "I would imagine I will announce at one of the bowl games, but that could change."
