Wildcats impress QB on visit

Marcus McMaryion visited Arizona this past weekend. Read on for his thoughts on the visit, who he favors, and more.

The UA coaching staff has been showing off the new football facilities to as many recruits as possible and it's safe to say Dinuba (Calif.) 2014 quarterback Marcus McMaryion was impressed on his visit this past weekend.

"I had heard about all the stuff they're building there and it was pretty cool," McMaryion said. "The players' lounge was really nice and all the stuff they've added was really cool to see."

The facilities weren't the only aspect of the visit that interested McMaryion.

"Arizona definitely helped their cause during my visit," McMaryion said. "I got to talk with the coaches a little bit and they think that I would be a good fit in their system.

"It was nice just being around everyone up close in a relaxed setting and just talking about my future and the future of their program."

Arizona has been honest with McMaryion throughout the process and continue to tell him that he will have an opportunity to play should he come to Tucson.

"Coach said they are trying to get as many good players in as possible and that the best players will play," he said.

It's a good thing that Arizona made a quality impression on McMaryion, because he has some more visits coming up.

"I've still got some other visits coming up, which I'm pretty excited about," McMaryion said. "But the Arizona visit impressed me because of the system and the coaches they have. It's nice now, because I have a point of reference to try and compare schools."

All these schools are still playing catch up to some degree.

"Washington was right up there," McMaryion said. "They've been on me for awhile. I like their system and their coaches are very cool, but after this Arizona visit they're right there as well now. I've got a lot of stuff to try and process over the next few months."
