Wright planning official to Arizona

Namon Wright is one of the best players in the west for 2014. Read on for his thoughts on Arizona, his overall recruitment, and more.

Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep shooting guard Namon Wright participated at the Pangos All-American Camp this past weekend and certainly had his moments.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound four-star is seeing his recruitment continually pick up, but can point to a handful of schools that are recruiting him harder than others.

"USC, Florida State, UCLA, Arizona, Gonzaga, and Oregon are probably the schools that are recruiting me the hardest," Wright said.

Arizona has been talking to Wright for a while now and at this point it is clear what the Wildcats' pitch to him is.

"Arizona is telling me that it wants me to just come in and be an all-around player," Wright said. "They want me to play good defense and they will help me become an elite defender and work offensively."

As Wright listens to Arizona and the other schools recruiting him as well, he has a good idea of what he is looking for.

"I want a school with a good family environment," he said. "Somewhere I can come in and have an equal opportunity to play and show my abilities and keep improving with my teammates."

With Wright hearing from so many schools, he has no intentions of speeding up the recruitment process.

"I am definitely going to wait," Wright said. "I think I am going to take a few visits before the summer is over, but most of them will be next year."

Although he is taking his time with the process, Wright still knows where he would like to take his official visits.

"It sounds crazy, but I want to take officials to USC and UCLA," he said. "Oregon, Gonzaga, Florida State, and Arizona are ones that I want to look at. I know I am definitely taking one to Arizona."
