Jamardre Cobb: Arizona has been recruiting Cobb as one of its top priorities and it is paying off. The Wildcats are considered to be one of Cobb's leaders and will likely be able to get him on campus this summer. It will not be easy to land him, because there are big schools involved, but Arizona has definitely done a good job here. The coaching staff has a very big opportunity when it hosts him on an unofficial visit, despite the fact that he wants to take his time with a decision.
Marquis Ware: See above. Ware and Cobb have discussed playing together at the next level and Arizona is a legitimate option here. He will visit with Cobb and if that visit goes well, Arizona is going to be in even better position. Like Cobb, Ware is going to have numerous big schools coming after him and it will be for both sides of the ball. Arizona will have to hold off some good ones, but it has a chance here.
Joey Alfieri: Alfieri is somewhat quiet about his recruitment, but the in-state schools are going after him hard. Arizona has not had a lot of recent success with the northwest, but it would like to land Alfieri. Stanford and the Oregon schools could be tough to beat, but Arizona is working to get Alfieri on campus. At this point, there is not a timeline for him to decide and that could work in Arizona's favor, but it needs to get him on campus.
Curtis Bolton: Bolton is the type of player that would like to see a local offer and, if it comes, his recruitment could change. However, it is unknown if that will happen and Arizona has made him a priority. Bolton plans to visit Tucson at some point and there is a good chance a decision will not be too long after that. That does not necessarily mean that Arizona is a school to beat, but the interest by Bolton is there and figuring he visits, Arizona has a solid shot.
Tyler Cook: Cook recently visited BYU and came away impressed. The feeling surrounding BYU is that it is the favorite to land Cook and we are not necessarily in a position to argue. Arizona is not out of it by any means, but BYU has some things going for it and has done a good job of recruiting Cook. We don't see this recruitment dragging out unless a big offer changes it and we also are inclined to think that he is going to Arizona or BYU.
Antonio Smothers: This is a relatively recent offer and the other schools involved are Miami, USC, Kansas State, and others. Miami is in good shape for an official, but Smothers does not have anything scheduled to any school yet. He wants to take his time throughout the process and will then make a decision in December. Smothers is from Indiana, so location likely will not be a factor. He is very open now, so Arizona has a chance and him playing in-state should at least help Arizona a little bit.
Greg Gooch: Gooch has offers from numerous schools throughout the country. He is still in the process of trying to get more and until that happens, does not seem to be thinking about a decision. This coaching staff tends to do well with Florida prospects and there seems to be a decent chance he will visit, but a lot of other schools are trying to get him on campus also. At this point, we do not know a lot about Gooch's recruitment, but Arizona is in there.
Josh Black: Arizona is in good shape for Black, with Marshall and Bowling Green being the other two main schools in contention. The coaching staff is working to get him on campus and he definitely seems open to visiting. At this point, you have to think that Arizona is the favorite, figuring it wants him and would accept a commitment at this time.
