"I just got back from playing in Italy and it was fun," Cheatham said. "There were a lot of really good players there, so I focused on playing defense, rebounding and doing the little things because most of the guys on the team were more interested in scoring.
"It was a learning experience and I'm happy to be back and get back to working on my game."
Cheatham's recruiting situation hasn't changed much in the past month or so.
"I'm going to USC and San Diego State this weekend," Cheatham said. "They are both schools that have some good things going for them, so I'm looking forward to that as well. I'm just checking out schools whenever I can."
Arizona continues to recruit Cheatham and his recruitment is now led by somebody new.
"I hear from the in-state schools like Arizona, which has been in touch with me off and on for the last couple years," he said. "Coach Whitford was the main guy recruiting me, but he obviously moved on and Coach Stoudamire has taken over.
"I've talked with him a couple times and it was a good, so we will see what happens with that."
Commitment is one area that Cheatham is keeping a close eye on.
"There are a lot of things that will play a factor in my decision," Cheatham said. "How much the school really wants me will mean a lot.
"Style of play will be a big factor as well. I will do whatever the coach asks, but I would like to play in a system that plays to my strengths."
