Delp staying open

Lineman Kammy Delp recently attended an Arizona camp. Read on for his thoughts on how it went, his top three, and more.

Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch lineman Kammy Delp is one of the most impressive players in the west and there are numerous schools that would be ecstatic to garner his commitment.

"Right now my top three schools are Southern California, UCLA and Oregon," Delp said. "Oregon is recruiting me for the defensive line, so that is kind of interesting and, obviously, the LA schools have great reputations.

"They are by no means the only schools I'm looking at because I like the whole Pac-12, but they have just made a nice impression."

The Arizona coaches are doing their best to enter Delp's top three list.

"I was with the Arizona coaches this past weekend at a camp," Delp said. "Nothing too serious, but they just said they liked my game a lot and that they would like me to get out there soon on an unofficial visit, if possible, which I want to do. I want to give them a chance."

Fitting in as a student athlete will play an important role in Delp's decision making process, but another factor will also be weighed heavily.

"Academics and football will play major roles in my decision, but my love for the city will be a huge factor as well," Delp said. "I want it to be a home away from home where I feel very comfortable and I can go anywhere without having to worry about getting into trouble."

Delp hopes to narrow down his list this month.

"I would like to announce a top five at the end of the month, hopefully," Delp said. "Then I would like to narrow the list down further sometime in the middle of the season, then commit sometime around the bowl game."
