Deboskie ready for visits

Kaelin Deboskie has some visits planned for the upcoming weeks, including an unofficial to Arizona. Read on to see where he is visiting, who has been recruiting him to Arizona, and more.

When the summer started, Tucson Salpointe wide receiver Kaelin Deboskie had plans to visit West Virginia, as well as camps at USC and Oklahoma State. Those plans changed and the receiver pushed back his visits and added a few more.

"I never got a chance to go out to any camps this summer," Deboskie said. "I do have a road trip coming up with my dad in about a week. I want to get out and see some schools."

Deboskie's top three includes Arizona, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia. He plans on visiting one of those during his road trip.

"We are going to stop at Oklahoma State for sure," he said. "We are going to give North Texas a look as well, since it is so close. Houston might be another option. They are close to offering me, so it would be beneficial if I could see the campus.

"We don't know which route we are taking to get home yet. We may try to go on one that takes us to see Colorado, but I'm not sure yet."

Deboskie is still being recruited by West Virginia, but it is too far for the receiver to travel on an unofficial visit. One visit that he is looking forward to isn't far from him at all.

"I haven't been to the Arizona campus any more yet," Deboskie said. "I am going to be at the red carpet event for the new facilities, so that should be really fun. I'm looking forward to it."

During the unofficials, the rising senior knows exactly what he wants to look for. He is still maturing and wants his transition to be as seamless as possible.

"First of all, I have to look at where I will be living for the next four to five years," he said. "I want to know what is around there, what the climate is like, and where the facilities are. I want to know about all the little things that are around there.

"Traveling and living alone is really different for a kid. I just want to make sure that I'm comfortable and see how everything is."

Even with the recent high-profile commitments for the Wildcats, Deboskie is still trying to focus on where he would fit in with the team and not worrying about other players.

"It means something to see other guys commit, but it also means nothing," he said. "It is important for the team, but at the end of the day it's still my choice. I don't want to choose where I end up going based on someone else. I just have to figure things out for myself."

He hasn't heard much from any coaches in the past few weeks, but the receiver chalks it up to the summer time.

"Nothing is really new right now," Deboskie said. "It has been kind of slow for me the last few weeks. Everyone is in summer mode and taking time off. Hopefully, it will pick up again in the next couple weeks."

The receiver has heard from one of his main recruiters, Arizona commit Cameron Denson. Denson is like family to Deboskie and tries to get his friend to play with him at Arizona.

"Cameron has kept on me since Arizona offered me," Deboskie said. "That's just what friends do. He wants us to play together and he's letting me know."

After he takes his visits in the month of July, Deboskie will take some time to think everything over before making his decision. He doesn't think it will take very long.

"I'm pretty sure that I will decide fairly soon," Deboskie said. "I think I should know in the first couple weeks of the season. That should be around the middle of August."
