Lineman getting closer to deciding

Jase Franke is planning to visit Arizona this week. Read on as he breaks down his recruitment, thoughts on the Wildcats, and more.

Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure defensive end Jase Franke is one of many prospects who will be on hand this weekend and he is going into the visit with some preconceived notions.

"I already have a really solid impression of Arizona," Franke said. "The facilities are first class, as are the coaches.

"They've sent me these really cool "wanted" posters that say things about how they're looking for tenacious players who are looking to make big-time plays, so those were really cool."

Franke is looking forward to his visit for numerous reasons, one of which is the ability to talk to current players.

"I'm excited to get down there July 27th," he said. "I really want to talk to the guys about what it's like after you commit.

"I want to know if they are the same after everything is done and they already have the commitment, stuff like that."

In addition to Arizona, Franke is looking at another Pac-12 school as well.

"I have a visit to Colorado coming up at some point, but I'm not exactly sure when," Franke said. "I'm getting some interest from other schools as well, but there isn't anything set in stone as far as when I'm going to visit."

The defensive lineman feels that a decision could come at any time.

"I want to make a decision by September," Franke said. "It could really be anytime, but there is some stuff that makes me want to decide soon.

"We've had a lot of upheaval at my school. We got a new coach and everyone is trying to adjust, so I would like to get my decision out of the way and just focus on football for the rest of my senior season."
