"The recruiting process has been going pretty good for me," Davis said. "It is going pretty slow, but it is starting to pick up. More coaches are getting to see me play."
The 2016 prospect has a few schools that are interested in him. However, he is hoping that some wins from his team will help his cause.
"I'm hoping that I can get some more exposure," he said. "Things are going to pick up with more people seeing me play. Coaches aren't going to come watch us if we are getting blown out, so winning games is a big part of that."
Even with Davis' short list of schools, he is hearing from a few of the top teams in the country.
The Hoosiers are the only school to offer the big man at the time, but he does feel that other schools are close.
"Indiana is my only offer at the moment," he said. "I think Colorado is really close. They keep telling me how much they like how I play."
While it is still early in his recruitment, Davis has taken an unofficial to Colorado and is currently planning one to Indiana.
"I'm trying to get out to Indiana pretty soon," Davis said. "I was trying to make it out to Arkansas, but that's not going to happen anytime soon.
"I've been to Colorado. It's pretty close to where I live. I really like the weather there."
Arizona has also had some contact with the forward early in his recruitment.
"I've talked to Arizona a little bit," he said. "It's been a while, but they keep in contact with me. I think they just need to see me play more."
In the coming months, when Davis looks closely at the teams recruiting him, he knows what he will be looking for.
"I'm looking for a team that plays uptempo," Davis said. "I like to get up and down the court, but it needs to be a team that can break it down and run the offense. I don't want to go to a one-dimensional team."
