Bushman looking at options

Matt Bushman is looking at all of his options, including playing baseball at the next level. Read on for his thoughts on the process, Arizona, and more.

The 2014 Tucson high school football class is one of the strongest in recent memory, and Rich Rodriguez is doing his best to keep players like Sabino tight end Matt Bushman home.

Bushman was on campus this past weekend and enjoyed his visit.

"It was a good time," Bushman said. "I was glad they wanted me out there, because it was a big day for the program and the red carpet event really showed that they're building the program."

The tight end liked what he heard from his potential position coach.

"I talked with Coach Ragle and he said the same thing he told Trevor Wood and Cloy," Bushman said. "He likes how we all play and he thinks we can be good players with our hands on the ground or being sent in motion.

"It was nice to hear that they want to use tight ends, so overall it was a good visit."

While it once appeared he might commit early, that has changed.

"Initially, I wanted to commit in August, but some other stuff has come up that is making me rethink that," Bushman said. "I love football, but I also really like baseball and I'm kind of struggling with what I want to pursue at the next level.

"BYU and Utah just offered me in baseball and I think I would be able to play both sports there, so it's something I'm considering."

Bushman wants to make sure he finds the school that can best accommodate his skills.

"I don't have any visits scheduled right now because I start school on Thursday," Bushman said. "When I do go on the visits I'm basically looking to see what the coaches think of me and what the players think of the coaches.

"I also want to see what they think of me possibly playing two sports."
