Humphreys getting closer

Connor Humphreys recently visited Arizona. Read on to see how that visit went, what his next step is, and more.

Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic defensive end Connor Humphreys is one of the stronger defensive prospects on the West Coast and he is being recruited accordingly.

A college decision is coming soon and there are five schools that made the final cut.

"My final five are UCLA, Arizona State, Arizona, Wisconsin and Tennessee," Humphreys said.

Humphreys has visited numerous schools lately, including Arizona.

"I enjoyed my time at Arizona," Humphreys said. "I had never been down there before, so it was really fun to see the school and talk with the coaches.

"They think I'm a good player and they let me know they would like me to come there. They think I can play their end position and that there is room to come in and play right away if I earn it."

A couple schools stand out above the rest, but Humphreys doesn't want to tip his hand, yet.

"I have a top two right now, but I'm not going to say who because I'm not completely sure right now," Humphreys said.

Still, the defensive end knows that it is getting close to when he would like to make a decision.

"The time is getting close for me to decide," he said. "I plan on announcing by the end of August. It will be nice to get the decision out of the way."
