Humphrey looking at options

Phoenix Sunnyslope center Michael Humphrey has seen his recruitment take off this summer. Read on for his reaction, thoughts on Arizona, and more.

There might not be a player in the country that has seen his stock increase like Phoenix Sunnyslope center Michael Humphrey.

The 6-foot-9, 205-pound big man holds offers from many of the biggest schools in the country and is taking it all in.

"It is a great experience to go through all of this and it is a lot of fun," Humphrey said. "It has come on really quick, but I feel like I have been working hard. I try to take it all in and just appreciate every call and coach I talk to."

Humphrey hesitated to even name the schools that he has heard from, as he wants to see how this phase of his recruitment plays out.

"I am still completely wide open," he said. "I am taking in every school and what they have to offer, so I don't want to make any type of list right now."

Arizona is one of the schools recruiting Humphrey the hardest, but he did not want to show his cards when discussing the Wildcats.

"I have talked to Arizona quite a bit and it is obviously a great school, but I am completely wide open," he said. "They like the way I play, but they want to see me keep improving and working like I have."

As Humphrey talks to each of the schools recruiting him, he has a good idea of what his decision will come down to.

"Academics are a big thing and a school that is going to remain competitive," he said. "Also, a school where I am going to want to live as a student."

The pace of Humphrey's recruitment could slow a bit, as Humphrey wants to narrow his list down and then proceed from there.

"My plan is to narrow my list down soon and then go on visits," Humphrey said. "Once I do that, I am going to move on and figure it out from there."
