Humphrey enjoys visit

2014 center Michael Humphrey recently visited Arizona. Read on to see how that visit went, his narrowed school list, and more.

Few players improved their recruiting stock more this summer than Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope 2014 center Michael Humphrey.

Still incredibly raw, Humphrey is mobile and held his own against some of the better big men in the country this summer.

Humphrey is still trying to process all the new attention he is receiving, but recently narrowed his list.

"I just trimmed my list of schools to Arizona State, Arizona, Grand Canyon, Indiana, Stanford, UCLA, California, Louisville, Notre Dame, Oregon, Virginia, Vanderbilt and Colombia," Humphrey said.

The 6-foot-9, 205-pound center recently took some visits and came away with numerous impressions.

"I went on three visits in the past few days to Arizona State, Arizona and Grand Canyon," he said. "They were all good visits.

"At Arizona, I got to tour the campus and talk with Coach Miller and he said they liked what they saw from me this summer and they are going to keep watching, but they would like me to become a Wildcat. They felt I would be a good fit in their kind of system"

Basketball won't be the deciding factor in Humphrey's college decision.

"I'm really happy that schools think a lot of my skills, but the most important factor for me is finding a great academic school," Humphrey said. "School is super important to me and I haven't figured out my major yet, but I will figure that out soon enough."

Humphrey plans on taking all five visits and has a rough time period that he is look at to commit.

"I would like to decide by early November," Humphrey said. "That doesn't have to happen then, but it's the time I would like to decide so I can focus on finishing my high school career with a bang."
