I would say about a 7. That's no offense to him, but I just don't think Denker can possibly be bad enough in the first three games to lose the starting job. I know people are skeptical about him, but Arizona has had much worse options in the past.
Rich Rodriguez is a good enough coach where he is going to put Denker in a position to succeed and that is likely to lead to him starting against Washington.
If B.J. Denker is to be effective this season, what things do you want to see from him in this first game that will indicate likely success?
It's real simple. Arizona wants him to win, not turn the ball over, and make the correct reads. If he minimizes his mistakes and Arizona wins, it is a successful start.
I don't need to see huge throws or even amazing numbers, but simply a quarterback that can successfully run the offense and limit his mistakes.
I get that Allen has shown to be a good runner in this offense which elevated him on our QB pecking order, but how has his arm and specifically his accuracy looked?
Pretty much what you would expect from a running quarterback. Allen's accuracy has gotten better, which is important because he has struggled with it at times. His arm strength is not fantastic, but it is probably good enough.
Matt Scott had fantastic arm strength and Arizona fans were probably a little spoiled by it and rightfully so. Allen is still working on making the correct reads and all the throws, but his ability to run opens up a lot of options for him.
Do you get the feeling that Ka'Deem Carey will be suspended some or all of this Fridays game?
Honestly, I have no idea. However, nothing would surprise me. I have a feeling that if Carey was not suspended, Rodriguez would have just come out and said it.
Instead, he told the media that he knew what he wanted to do and basically nobody outside of the coaches and Carey would know before Friday.
What is the interest level and possibility regarding an Ashton Dorsey transfer?
Arizona does not have any scholarships, so I would be really surprised if it happens.
Are Ware and Cobb still visiting Oklahoma?
Let's see what happens once we get closer to October, but right now I am leaning towards no. They are still scheduled to visit, although I would be slightly surprised if it happens.
