UNLV started on its own 25-yard with a three and out before the punt gave Arizona possession on its own 35-yard line.
Daniel Jenkins started the drive with a three-yard run and after a short gain on the ground by B.J. Denker, Jenkins gained 20 on a run. Denker then found Johnny Jackson for a 12-yard completion and Jenkins gained five more on the ground. The drive proceeded to stall with two incomplete passes, but a 41-yard field goal by Jake Smith gave Arizona the 3-0 lead with 11:31 left in the first quarter.
The Rebels tried to get something going on their own 19-yard line with a 16-yard pass from Nick Sherry to Maika Mataele. After a two-yard run by Cornett and a five-yard penalty, Arizona forced an incompletion on third down and took over on its own 15-yard line after the punt.
Denker completed a nine-yard pass to Garic Wharton to start the drive and two plays later, Jenkins gained seven on a run. Nate Phillips then caught a 12-yard pass and three plays later, had an 18-yard completion. On the next play, Denker made the perfect read and scored on the ground from 35 yards out, as the extra point gave the Wildcats a 10-0 lead with 8:10 left in the first quarter.
After starting on its own 16, Cornett picked up nine yards combined on two runs. Sherry was able to get the first down on a three-yard run, but three incomplete passes in a row led to a punt. After a nice return by Jackson to the UNLV 40, Arizona was only able to get an eight-yard completion to Wharton before turning it over on downs.
After two positive gains for UNLV, Sherry fumbled and Marquis Flowers recovered, taking the ball to the nine. Denker then gained those nine on the ground, with the score coming from four yards out as the extra point gave the Wildcats a 17-0 lead with 3:25 left in the first quarter.
UNLV tried to get the offense going from its own 25-yard line, but found itself in a fourth and short situation. Arizona's defense held up, forcing the turnover on downs and taking over on the UNLV 34.
Arizona's drive started with a five-yard run by Denker and after an incomplete pass, a Denker sack led to a punt.
UNLV was able to get 12 yards on the ground from Cornett before the first quarter came to an end, as the Rebels started on the 20.
The second quarter then started with a 69-yard touchdown completion from Sherry to Devante Davis, but the extra point was blocked, keeping it at 17-6 in favor of Arizona.
On the first play from scrimmage, Ka'Deem Carey got his first carry of the season and scored a 58-yard touchdown with the extra point giving Arizona the 24-6 lead with 14:28 left in the first half.
The Wildcats proceeded to force a three and out and take over on its own 37-yard line. Carey started the drive with a five-yard run and Denker picked up the first down with a seven-yard gain on the ground.
After an incomplete pass, Carey gained five on the ground and two plays later, picked up nine more. Two plays after that, Samajie Grant caught a 12-yard pass and Carey followed with an eight-yard run. Phillips then caught a five-yard pass and on third and five, Carey scored from 12 yards out with the extra point making it 31-6 with 8:37 left in the first half.
UNLV found itself on its own 30-yard line, but the drive started with a holding call. Cornett was able to get six yards on a run and the Rebels picked up a first down with a 12-yard completion to Davis. However, two plays later, Jake Fischer scored on an interception and the Wildcats went up 38-6 with 6:59 left in the first half.
After yet another three and out by UNLV, the UA started on the Rebels' 49-yard line. Two plays into the drive, Jenkins gained ten in the air and Denker followed it with nine on the ground. Carey proceed to run for a gain of eight yards, but the drive then stalled and a 39-yard field goal attempt by Smith was no good.
UNLV actually got something going offensively from its own 22 with a nine-yard and five-yard run by Cornett. Sherry then found Mataele for an eight-yard completion and, after a penalty, Sherry ran 11 yards for the first down. Once again, however, UNLV made a costly mistake, as Sherry passed it right to Tra'Mayne Bondurant, who scored from 52 yards out as the extra point put the Wildcats up 45-6 at the half.
Arizona started the half on its own 25 with a 7, 8, and 25-yard run by Carey. Two plays later, Jenkins ran for five yards and followed it up with four. Denker picked up the first down and Jenkins added three more on the ground before Denker had two runs for a combined seven yards. Arizona wasn't able to do much after that and had to settle for a 29-yard field goal that gave the Wildcats the 48-6 lead that would hold until the fourth quarter.
At the start of the fourth quarter, Jenkins ran for eight yards and then followed with three more. Two plays later, he gained 11 on the ground and a few plays later, Jared Baker had three consecutive carries for a combined 17 yards. Arizona would eventually add a 31-yard field goal with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter to go up 51-6.
UNLV was able to get in the scoring column again shortly after with a 79-yard run by Murray-Lawrence, as the extra point made it 51-13 in favor of the Wildcats. Kylan Butler would later match it with a three-yard touchdown run to cap the scoring.
