Jones getting comfortable

Cayleb Jones is not eligible to play for Arizona this season, but that does not mean he won't have an impact. Read on to see how his transfer has gone, where his impact is coming from, and more.

Texas transfer Cayleb Jones may not be able to participate in any of Arizona's games this year, but he is finding other ways to contribute.

Jones is working to make himself comfortable in Tucson and so far he has been successful.

"It's going well," Jones said. "I am getting in the swing of things and meeting people and learning about the city, so it's going well."

As Jones looked for transfer options, he focused on Arizona for a handful of reasons.

"Couple different things," he said. "Connor coming here was a big deal and I have watched Arizona a lot. I know Dan Buckner came here from Texas and did well."

The Arizona coaching staff was open with Jones throughout the process and it was a big reason why he decided to be a Wildcat.

"It's extremely important," he said. "The coaches know what I have been through and they were open about it.

"They told me to come in and focus on football and don't make the same mistakes I made before."

In terms of fan support, it would not be a surprise if Jones believed the atmosphere at Texas is different from Arizona. However, he says that is not the case.

"I feel like they care about football just as much here," he said. "The spring game was big with fans coming for autographs and you don't see much difference between the love the fans have for their teams."

Jones won't be on the field for another year, but his impact can be seen with each passing game.

"I am really just pushing guys like Shaq Richardson and Jonathan McKnight in practice," Jones said.

"Doing what I can to help the team and individually just getting bigger and stronger for next season."
