Commit watch: Week 4

Arizona had several of its committed players in action over the weekend. Read on to find out which commit scored four touchdowns in his second consecutive game and more.

Several Arizona commits were in action over the weekend. The following are results of their games:

  • Bishop Mora Salesian (Calif.): The Arizona commitment trio of Marquis Ware, Jamardre Cobb, and Rodney Carr got back to .500 with an easy 41-6 win over Pasadena. Salesion scored early and dominated the rest of the game. Stats were not reported for Salesian.

  • Fresno Central High East (Calif): A second trio of Arizona commits got back to .500 on Friday night as well. Running back Nick Wilson returned from his injury and carried the ball twelve times for 131 yards, which included a 66-yard touchdown run. Defensive lineman Sharif Williams is out for the year with a knee injury and stats for safety Devon Brewer were not reported.

  • Southridge (Ore.): The Skyhawks won a third straight game on Friday night with a big win over Lake Oswego. Wide receiver Jordan Morgan had a big game for his team. He caught a 44-yard touchdown early and also added four carries for 98 yards and another score on the ground.

  • Scottsdale Community College (Ariz.): Scottsdale won its fourth straight game over the weekend. The 16th ranked Artichokes traveled to Tucson and took on the Pima Aztecs. It was closer than Scottsdale would have liked, but the Aritchokes came away with the win 35-28. Stats for Patrick Glover and Antonio Smothers were unavailable..

  • Chaffey Community College (Calif.): Chaffey got the first win of its young season 37-19 over Antelope Valley. Kaige Lawrence and the offensive line helped Chaffey pushed for 250 rushing yards and two touchdowns. It also held for 158 yards through the air and two passing scores.

  • Oceanside (Calif): Jace Whitaker's team shut down Poway in a 61-0 victory on Friday. Whitaker did catch a few passes in the win, but his stats were not reported.

  • Granite Bay (Calif.): Athlete Tony Ellison continued to pick apart opposing defenses on Friday night. Ellison rushed the ball fourteen times for 168 yards and four touchdowns. It was his second consecutive game with four touchdowns. He also hauled in one catch for 23 yards in the game, helping his team to a 46-28 victory.

  • Oaks Christian (Calif.): Arizona's lone quarterback commit, Brandon Dawkins, lost his first game on Thursday night. Oaks Christian fell to Chaminade 21-14 as Dawkins struggled for the first time all year. He finished with seventeen of 34 passes completed for 245 yards.

  • Scottsdale Chaparral (Ariz): Tight end Trevor Wood had a ridiculous performance on national television Friday night. The tight end started the night with a leaping touchdown catch just before halftime and didn't stop there. Wood finished with five catches for 107 yards. He also had a one-handed catch on the sideline, but was pushed out just short of the goal line.

  • La Habra (Calif.): La Habra lost its first game of the season on Friday night. The Highlanders fell 46-21 to Mission Viejo on the road. Tight end Darrell Cloy did not have any catches in the contest.

  • Iowa Western Community College : The defending champions shut out their third straight opponent on Saturday. Arizona commit Jamie Byrd was not tested much during the game, but did have a handful of tackles and a pass break up.
