Boatwright taking his time

Bennie Boatwright is one of the better players in the west for 2015. Read on to see why, the latest in his recruitment, and more.

A rare blend of size, skill, and pure shooting ability has quickly propelled 6-foot-7, 190-pound forward Bennie Boatwright up the rankings and made him a much sought after recruit in the 2015 class.

Boatwright helped his stock throughout the summer, but still feels he could have done better.

"I thought my summer ended well," Boatwright said. "I thought that I could have played better, but overall, the summer ended well."

Boatwright also recently transferred from Alemany High to Village Christian H.S. located in Sun Valley, California.

The forward says his transfer was for personal reasons and basketball as a whole.

"I felt it was best for me and my family to transfer for me to improve as a player and a person," he said.

When discussing his junior season, Boatwright's overall goals are clear.

"I like my new school a lot so far and some of my goals for the upcoming season are to win state and improve more as a player and teammate," he said.

After a very solid summer period, Boatwright has picked up offers from some of the top schools in the country.

"Right now, I have offers from the whole Pac-12 minus Utah and Stanford, Florida, UConn, and my newest offer is Kansas," Boatwright said.

Boatwright currently has no visits planned yet, but would like to see Arizona soon.

"Yeah I have something on the same day as the Red and Blue game, but I do plan on visiting Arizona for an unofficial soon," he said.
