At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, Allen is known for his scoring ability according to Hutchinson assistant coach Jay Cyriak.
"He's a 6'3 combo guard," said Cyriak. "When he first came here he was playing off the ball, but out of necessity we shifted him to point and he proved he could play that as well. He has a knock for scoring and is very long."
Cyriak continued, "As a freshman he was our leading scorer, and also was first in steals and second in blocks. He can score it as well as anybody I have seen, and was the Newcomer of the Year in the league and was the only freshman to make first team All-American. He is just a scorer who plays excellent defense and gets things done."
Allen also had interest from schools such as Kansas, Indiana, Cincinnati, and Kansas State, but according to Cyriak the Wildcats did a standout job of recruiting him.
"I really think they did the best job of recruiting Kadeem," said Cyriak. "They offered him back in May and did an excellent job recruiting him from that point on. Sean Miller and Damon Stoudamire came in last week and he came back here yesterday and decided to do it. He just really fell in love with the school."
This is the third commitment for the Wildcats in the class of 2014. He joins five-star power forward Craig Victor and four-star point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright.
