Hemsley taking his time

Jeremy Hemsley is one of the top players in the west for 2015. Read on to see why, what schools are recruiting him, and more.

La Verne (Calif.) Damien shooting guard Jeremy Hemsley quietly saw his stock increase this past summer and nothing has changed in that regard.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound four-star has impressed coaches for numerous reasons.

"Hemsley has a long, wiry frame," Scout.com's Josh Gershon writes. "He shoots the ball well from behind the stripe off the catch and he also showed an ability to create his own shots off the bounce. Hemsley is a solid athlete that can also mix in some plays at the rim in transition ."

With a scouting report like that, it is no surprise that many schools throughout the country have offered.

"I have new offers from Vanderbilt, USC, Washington, San Diego St., UNLV, UConn, and Gonzaga," Hemsley said.

Even with his long list of offers, Hemsley is still keeping Arizona very close in mind and plans on visiting soon.

"I definitely plan on visiting Arizona," Hemsley says. "I plan on coming to visit after the high school season is over."

Hemsley has talked with the Arizona coaching staff, but one coach in particular has taken the lead in his recruitment.

"I talk with Coach (Damon) Stoudamire the most," Hemsley said. "He just tells me how I would fit in and what they like their guards to do."

At this point, there is no end to Hemsley's recruitment in sight.

"I just want to focus on my junior season," he said. "I don't know of any exact visit dates or when I am going to decide."
