2015 signal caller looking at options

Ryan Davis is one of the top players in Florida for 2015. Read on to see how his recruitment is going, where Arizona stands, and more.

Rich Rodriguez has never been afraid to recruit Florida or play an undersized quarterback. It looks like the staff has zeroed in on a 2015 quarterback who checks off both those boxes.

Rodriguez isn't the only coach to notice 5-foot-11, 160-pound St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood quarterback Ryan Davis' skills.

"There are a lot of schools that I'm interested in," Davis said. "Getting some of the local offers is really cool and I'm also getting interest from national schools."

One of those schools is Arizona.

"I love hearing from them and I hear from them quite a bit, especially Coach Smith," Davis said. "They really like my ability to be a dual-threat quarterback and what is cool is they don't care about my size at all.

"They think I can make all the throws and I know that Coach Rodriguez has had success with quarterbacks that aren't that tall. All that stuff is good because the type of offense a school runs is going to factor in my decision."

Even though Davis is only a junior, he would love to make it down to Arizona.

"The main thing is it's hard to make it financially work," Davis said. "That's why its easier for me to take some visits to places in my area, but if possible I would like to check out the school because it's got a lot going for it."

If Arizona is going to get Davis on campus, it's going to have to occur soon.

"I want to be able to decide sometime right around the 2014 Signing Day," he said. "If not then, I want to decide before my senior season starts."
