T.J. McConnell started the game with a bucket and Brandon Ashley added a free-throw. Kaleb Tarczewski then made two from the line and Nick Johnson scored. After a free-throw by Royce Woolridge, Aaron Gordon scored on the offensive glass to give Arizona the 9-1 lead and a Tarczewski dunk forced a timeout with the Wildcats up 12-1 with 13:46 left in the half.
A free-throw by Tarczewski and three-pointer by Gabe York extended the lead to 16-1 with 11:41 left. Tarczewski made two more free-throws and Wazzu got back on the board with one from the line before Johnson made a three and gave Arizona a 21-2 lead with 7:36 left in the first half.
Jordan Railey made a free-throws and Woolridge scored the first field goal in over 13 minutes for the Cougars. D.J. Shelton added another, as a dunk by Tarczewski and score by McConnell and two free-throws gave Arizona the 27-7 lead with 3:27 left in the half. Gordon would hit a free-throw before the end of the half and Arizona led 28-7 to end it.
Johnson started the first half with two free-throws, but Longrus hit a two soon after. A basket by Gordon put Arizona up 32-9 with 15:30 left in regulation. Ashley and Ronde Hollis-Jefferson scored as Tarczewski added another buck before a Will Dilorio three made it 38-12 in favor of the Wildcats with 11:40 left.
York made a free-throw and Woolridge answered with a score. However, Ashley scored two buckets and McConnell scored one in between as Arizona went up 45-14 with 7:54 left. A three by York extended the lead and the game played out like the previous 35 minutes.
