Arizona blows out Utah

Arizona dominated Utah on Thursday. Read on for a complete recap of the 71-39 Pac-12 quarterfinal win.

Arizona put together one of its best performances of the season as it defeated Utah 71-39 in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 tournament.

T.J. McConnell and Nick Johnson scored to start the game, but Dallin Bachynski picked up two free-throws and made a bucket to tie it. After a Gabe York three, Princeton Onwas scored as Arizona led 7-6 at the 14:50 mark of the first half.

Gordon scored and Tarczewski proceeded to make a free-throw. McConnell then made a layup and a three by Johnson forced a Utah timeout with the Wildcats up 15-6 with just over nine minutes left in the first half.

Tarczewski then scored and Johnson made a three. he proceeded to make two free-throws before a basket by Onwas cut the Arizona lead to 22-8 with 7:09 remaining.

Johnson made two free-throws and Dakarai Tucker made a three from the corner. McConnell then scored and Rondae Hollis- Jefferson did the same.McConnell scored again and Gordon got a bucket after one by Onwas.

Another basket by Gordon gave Arizona a 34-13 lead at the half, as the Utes broke a record for the fewest points in a half of a Pac-12 tournament game.

Tarczewski made two free-throws to start the half and then got a layup. Johnson added another basket before Loveridge made two free-throws.

York hit a three and Tucker made two from the line, but Tarczewski and Hollis-Jefferson then scored five consecutive points to grab the 51-17 lead.

Delon Wright finally scord his first points of the game with two free-throws and followed with a bucket. Gordon also made two free-throws and Onwas made one from the line soon after.

McConnell scored before Bachynski had a three-point play. Gordon then made a three and after a bucket by Bachynski, Jordin Mayes scored four points to forced a timeout with the Wildcats up 62-27 with 6:35 left and eye towards advancing to the semifinals.
