Simple as win and advance for Tarczewski

Arizona withstood numerous Weber State runs on Friday. Read on to see how Kaleb Tarczewski believes the Wildcats did that and more.

When asked what he could take away from Friday's win over Weber State, Kaleb Tarczewski's answer was as simple as can be.

"It's a win," Tarczewski said. "That is how I look at it. We are moving on to the next round and hopefully we can win on Sunday too. That's all that matters."

Tarczewski did not hide the fact that he believes Arizona had some nerves even though it was able to overcome them.

"I think at the beginning of the game we were definitely a little nervous to start out," he said. "I think we played really good basketball in the second half of the first half and most of the second half.

"For some guys in this locker room, this is their first time at the NCAA Tournament under the bright lights. It is kind of a real hectic feeling, but it was fine and everybody will be fine on Sunday."

Weber State was able to make a bit of a run when Arizona was missing some free-throws, but Tarczewski does not want to harp on it too much.

"I think we definitely need to make free-throws," he said. "I don't think we should focus on it too much, it is just our comfort level. I think everyone was a little nervous today, but we will be fine.

"Every good team makes a run. It depends on how you react to that run and I think we did a good job of fending them off and coming out with a victory."

Arizona controlled the paint defensively and a lot of that seemingly had to do with how Weber State was attacking the basket.

"I think it was just how the other team was playing," Tarczewski said. "We obviously were in the right place at the right time and that is what happens."

No matter what happened on Friday, Tarczewski is sure of the fact that Arizona will have to play better in its next game.

"I definitely feel like that," he said. "We're going to be playing a really good team. Today was not our best game, but it is a win and that is all that matters."
