Jones close to taking visits

Sheriron Jones is one of the top quarterbacks in the west. Read on for his recruiting plans and much more.

Blessed with mobility and a strong arm, 2015 Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde quarterback Sheriron Jones is considered one of the best signal callers on the West Coast.

Jones' abilities also appear to make him an ideal fit for the offense employed by Rich Rodriguez, but he is talented enough that he would be a natural fit in just about any system and he is being recruited as such.

"I'm being recruited by a lot of the West Coast and some schools farther away like Nebraska," Jones said. "If a school offers me I want to visit."

The Arizona schools both figure to receive a visit from Jones in short order.

"Both schools have told me they like how I play the game and they think I would be a good fit there," Jones said. "I'm going to travel down there sometime in the next couple months and check out both places and see what they have."

No school stands out to Jones and he says there is time for others to get involved.

"I've been playing well at the camps and I'm getting more interest, so if a school offers me I will be interested," he said.

Any school considering extending an offer to Jones should do so sooner rather than later, as he keeps moving the process along.

"I'm going to come up with a list sometime soon," Jones said. "I want to go to a place where I really like the coach and where the players get along and are all on the same page. I would also like to find a place with a good kinesiology department.

"I plan on deciding after the first week of my senior high school season. That's coming up here soon, so I have to take some visits and figure out where the best place for me is."
