"The California visit was fun," McCoy said. "They had been trying to get me there for some time. Coach Dykes has been pretty straight forward with me.
"He said they are moving in the right direction, but they need younger guys who can come in and make an immediate impact."
McCoy talked with the California coaches about his possible role in the Golden Bear defense.
"They like my ability at the defensive end position and they think that with my size and strength I have the ability to play right away," he said.
California isn't the only new school pursuing McCoy.
"Washington and USC are coming to my school in the next few weeks and besides that, schools like Oregon and Arizona State are showing interest," McCoy said.
Even with all the new schools pursuing McCoy, he claims to still be a solid commitment to Arizona.
"They were on me early and when I went down there they were all great and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at home," he said.
"The fact that they have a specific plan helps a lot as well. They have just been great."
Despite his love for Arizona, McCoy admits that he is considering his options.
"Arizona is a great place, don't get me wrong," McCoy said. "But now that all these other schools are interested in me I wouldn't be doing myself any favors if I didn't at least look at the possibilities."
