Allen finds best fit

Jordan Allen is transferring from LSU. Read on to see why he chose to join Arizona and more.

Ever since he announced his intention to transfer from LSU, pass rusher Jordan Allen became a priority recruit for the Arizona coaching staff. Quick and strong with a relentless attitude, Allen is everything the coaches are looking for in a graduate transfer. They made their feelings known during Allen's trip to Tucson and now he is a Wildcat.

"One of the things that really impressed me was how they took care of me on my trip," Allen said. "I was really sick at the beginning of my trip and I literally couldn't do anything.

"Coach Dudek really took care of me. There was no pressure on me or anything. They were just genuinely concerned with how I was doing. Once I felt better I went around the campus and toured around with the coaches."

Allen liked what he heard, specifically the fact that he will be able to contribute right away.

"They said they definitely have an opening for me on the front," Allen said. "They like the fact that I'm older and I can come in and contribute immediately."

After he got back from the visit, everything started to fall into place.

"I sat down and looked at all the schools and Arizona was just the best fit," Allen said. "I have a real comfort factor with the coaches. They know what they are doing and they had a plan laid out as to how they want to use me."

Academics also played a role in his decision.

"It's a place where I can take the next step in my academic career and get a masters degree while I'm playing football and it seems that I have the support of the whole school behind me," Allen said.
