San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty is a high school that many Arizona fans are familiar with and if the UA football coaches have their way, another player from this famed school will soon be joining the Arizona family.
"I like what I'm hearing from Arizona," said 2015 athlete Dakari Monroe. "They are the biggest school to offer me so far and they say what I like to hear. They think I can go in and compete and when you factor in that they play a lot of defensive backs, it makes it a school that I plan on visiting sometime."
There are other schools that have also offered Monroe.
"San Jose State, Nevada and Washington State are also schools that want me to come play there," Monroe said. "Like with all the schools recruiting me I'm in the process of getting to know all these coaching staffs and the kind of systems they run."
Although Monroe plans on setting up visits in the near future, he wants to prove his skills against the best this summer.
"I have the Nike Combine coming up," he said. "I think that I will be able to open some eyes going there because there are a bunch of great players there. If possible, I will show more schools how good I am. I also have a couple other combines and camps that I will go to."
With his focus on improving his standing, Monroe doesn't plan on making a decision in the near future.
"There isn't any kind of range for getting the process over with," he said. "I want to find a place that not only is a fit for me on the field but, even more importantly, is a place where I feel totally comfortable along with having the academics I'm looking to get."
