Holmes solid in commitment

Arizona commit Darick Holmes was recently offered by Washington and has others recruiting him. Read on to see his thoughts on his commitment and more.

Rich Rodriguez has proven to be an extremely effective recruiter once he gets a kid on campus and Newbury Park (Calif.) 2015 wide receiver Darick Holmes would probably back that claim.

"When I visited there it just felt right," Holmes said. "When they offered me on my visit it just made sense for me commit. I feel I am an absolutely perfect fit there.

"The way they move guys around and get their backs in space is unreal and it's something that I feel I am really showing off at the high school level."

"Other schools are coming after me, but it's not happening."

Starring at Arizona isn't the most immediate concern facing Holmes, as he has rather lofty expectations for next season.

"I'm going into the season with the mindset that I want to be the best all around back in the country next season," Holmes said. "I will have the opportunity and the coaches have big plans, so stay tuned.

"I feel that people will be surprised with how I play and the kind of production and success we will have next season."

It isn't just Arizona that figures to stay tuned, especially considering that Washington just offered.

"I'm completely solid to Arizona," Holmes said. "Other schools are coming after me, but it's not happening. I found the coach and system I want to play in. The next step is figuring out my academics, but I am not worried about that."

Not surprisingly, Holmes has a plan in that area as well.

"I want to major in kinesiology," he said. "So the next step is getting signed up for that. I'm good to go though and it is going to be fun to get down to Tucson and get down to business."
