Auburn (Calif.) Placer High School 2015 offensive tackle Johnny Capra is a new name to some, but with the way his stock has improved over the past few months, this doesn't figure to be the case much longer.
"I just got done at the Nike competition," Capra said. "It was a real learning experience, that's for sure. Seeing all those players there and what I need to do to keep improving was pretty important for me.
"I know I am a lot bigger than most guys, but in college there is a lot more to it than just being big. It just goes to show me that I can always become more physical and continue to get bigger and quicker."
That is precisely what Capra is doing right now.
"We're finishing up track season and while I know my future is in football, track has been a great way to improve my strength and explosion," he said. "It's been fun but spring football is already here and I'm ready to go."
Capra is also in the process of establishing relationships with various college coaches.
"I've been getting stuff from different schools," he said. "There is no list or anything because I don't know a ton about these schools.
"The Arizona schools are a good example. Both of them have nice things to say, but we are still in the process of getting to know each other.
"As with every other place recruiting me, I want to hear more. I'm still in the early stages of all this and I am in no hurry to get this decision over with."
