As is usually the case, Rich Rodriguez has extended early offers to many prospects that figure to get more looks once the big-time schools get a closer view.
One of these prospects is 2015 Palmdale (Calif.) athlete Dameon Baber.
"Right now the offers I have are from Arizona and Nevada," Baber said. "Both schools have told me similar things. They think there is early playing time available for me, but I have to go and earn it, which is fine by me.
"I don't really care about what position I play. I just want to go in there and help the team out in anyway possible."
It would not be a surprise to see Baber's offer list expand once the summer is over.
"I'm going to a lot of camps," he said. "I just don't know for sure which ones I will go to, but I'm hoping some of the schools that are showing interest like Boise State, USC and Oregon will think I'm worth an offer."
While Baber is still trying to figure out what camps he will go to, he is also still trying to figure out how the visit system works.
"I'm not going to be ready to take visits for awhile because I'm not exactly sure what to do," Baber said. "I need to get in touch with schools and see how they want to go about doing it."
In the meantime, Baber is going to keep working hard in anticipation of his chance at national exposure.
"These camps will be my time to shine and I don't want to have any regrets," he said. "I want to go into the event fully prepared and hopefully scouts can see that I'm a winning football player."
