Alston wants to visit

Lavan Alston is one of the top wide receivers in the west. Read on to find out more about his recruitment.

Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure 2015 wide receiver prospect Lavan Alston is appreciative of the schools that have shown him early interest and is quick to return the sentiment.

"Basically the schools that are interested in me I like," Alston said. "Schools like Oregon State, Arizona State and Arizona are the kind of schools I'm looking to visit. I have already been to Oregon State, so I'm hoping to get to Arizona State and Arizona here very soon."

There are different aspects to both Arizona schools that Alston finds appealing.

"Arizona State likes how I fit into their offense and then when you think about the fact that my quarterback is going there it's a school that has a lot of what I'm looking for, but I have to see what the campus feels like.

"Arizona is pretty similar. They have an offense that puts up a lot of points and the coaches think that I can make the moves and stretch the field to really thrive in that role. I'm not sure when I will get to both places, but I will definitely get there."

Alston wants to impress enough scouts in the hope of getting an invite to the Army All American game.

"I know that my name is under consideration, but I haven't heard anything, so I'm just going to keep balling," he said.

Whether he receives an invite or not, Alston will go into his official visits with a clear idea of what he is hoping to see.

"The visits will mean a lot for me," Alston said. "I want to find a place with an offense I feel comfortable with but more so than that a coaching staff I trust and want to be around."
