Arizona to host defensive back

Arizona will host a junior college defensive back this weekend. Read on to see who it is and much more.

There are numerous visitors coming into town this weekend and one that Arizona fans should keep an eye on is Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Chaffey defensive back Toure Boyd.

Boyd has an offer from Utah, Texas State, and New Mexico State, but that list could expand after this weekend.

"I'm really excited be able to look around and just talk with the coaches," Boyd said. "I'm curious to meet them in person and they were saying that an offer could be on the way, so that would be good."

There have been some preliminary discussions with Arizona and Boyd is happy with his recruiting pitch so far.

"I like everything I'm hearing from Arizona," he said. "They think that I can play at a few different spots in the secondary and I hear that they run a 3-3-5 and that is good for me. I feel that I can do either one."

As Boyd visits Tucson, he has one major goal that he wants to accomplish.

"I want to talk with my position coach," he said. "That is the guy that I'm going to have to be around a lot and I just want to see what kind of guy he is and how he goes about working with his players."

The school that gets Boyd will get a tireless worker who is always striving to get better.

"I ran with the track team this past season," Boyd said. "Although I didn't compete in the events, I was able to compete with the team and that was pretty good for me because I got to work on my stride and form, which are obviously things that relate to football.

"Football is what I want to do and I will do what it takes to get better."
