This past weekend was an important one for UA football.
The coaches hosted a number of players from around the country and some, such as Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Chaffey C.C. safety Toure Boyd, received scholarship offers.
"The visit was absolutely awesome," Boyd said. "Being on the campus and being able to check everything out was great and just seeing how everything runs really gave me a sense of how things operate."
Boyd had some questions going into the visit and feels that they were answered quickly.
"It answered all the questions I had as far as if I could see myself there for a few years," he said. "It's a football focused place and that is what I'm looking for."
While Boyd liked what he saw at the school, it was another aspect of the visit that really excited him.
"I got the offer man," Boyd said. "I was just so happy that they felt that I was worthy of receiving a scholarship. They said they liked my speed and could see me at any position in the secondary.
"Right now I'm playing a lot of safety, but the coaches want me to be able to play corner if need be."
Another offer in hand, Boyd still claims no favorites, but knows when he would like to make his collegiate decision.
"Both schools have been really good. I don't have anything else set up right now, so I will have to compare both of the schools."
