Arizona makes safety's cut

Safety Frank Buncom IV recently cut his list to ten and the Wildcats were on it. Read on to see why that is and more.

It's the time of the year when rising senior prospects start to dwindle down their school list, and that is exactly what 2015 San Diego St. Augustine safety Frank Buncom did.

"I got my list narrowed down to ten," Buncom said. "Those schools are UCLA, Washington, Stanford, Tennessee, Nevada, San Diego State, California, Duke, Northwestern and Arizona.

"I feel all those schools have a lot of good things going for them. They are all good schools, and that is an important thing for me. Academics will play a major factor in where ever I go, as will football, obviously."

Buncom sees a lot of positives in Arizona.

"The Arizona coaches have been talking with me for quite some time," he said. "They like my game and they think I could help them win games."

Arizona's pitch to Buncom goes beyond the coaching staff.

"I go to the same high school that Johnny Jackson did and he has had nothing but great things to say about the coaches and everything like that," Buncom said.

"He thinks I would fit in very well. Anytime somebody you know says something like that you listen."

Buncom doesn't know where he will play college football, but he does know what he is looking for when he goes on his visits.

"I know a lot of people say it, but I really mean it when I say academics are going to be a key part of my decision," Buncom said. "If possible. I would like to meet with a biology professor and just see how everything works and how they see my interests working in there.

"I'm going to be very thorough about this, so I have no decision time frame."
