Attending the University of Arizona's camp paid dividends for one local prospect.
Anthem (Az.) Boulder Creek's Nathan Eldridge has played defensive line most of his life but throughout the Spring evaluation period many coaches told him he might have a future on the offensive side of the ball.
He has spent the summer working on the offensive line and traveled to Tucson to UofA's camp and ended up earning MVP honors at the 7on7 on Friday and then got instruction from Wildcat OL Jim Michalczik.
The Wildcats liked what they saw as Eldridge tells Scout.com that he received an offer from UofA on Thursday morning.
He says, "Coach Lockwood said I actually earned the offer on Friday but Coach Rodriguez wanted to see me a little more on Saturday. I was going to go to their camp at Glendale Community College tonight but I have a national wrestling tournament in Idaho so I can't make it. Coach said they really want me to be a Wildcat and were very impressed with everything I did at their camp."
Montana, NAU, Holy Cross, South Dakota State and Air Force have offered Eldridge as well but says he is "very excited" for his first BCS offer.
Eldridge (6-4 275) missed some time with an elbow injury in 2013 but still received all-section honors as a junior.
