Considering he is one of the best defensive players on the West Coast, it's not a surprise that 2015 Etiwanda (Calif.) linebacker Khaylan Thomas is receiving high praise from college recruiters. However, he is not letting it go to his head.
"Most the coaches tell me the same kinds of things," Thomas said. "They all like my cover skills and they think that I have the ability to get a lot better in that regard. They also think that I'm a natural in and out of my cuts and my tackling is talked about."
Thomas is able to get those compliments because he works hard to improve.
"I'm always looking to tackle as explosively as possible and I think that shows up on the film," he said. "That being said, I'm not at all satisfied and I treat each day like a chance to get better."
Arizona is one of the schools impressed by Thomas.
"They always are contacting me," he said. "They say a lot of stuff like the other coaches do, but they are obviously really interested in me."
The Wildcats are in the same boat as the other schools trying to procure Thomas' services.
"There isn't a list or anything right now," Thomas said. "I want to get through with the USC camp and then get my official visits lined up."
Those visits will be especially important for Thomas.
"I haven't gone on any visits or anything like that, so I'm not totally sure what to expect," he said.
"I'm not looking for anything in particular; I'm just looking for a place where I feel comfortable and trust the people around me."
