Cruikshank breaks down commitment

Dane Cruikshank committed to Arizona on Wednesday. Read on to see why he made the decision and more.

On Wednesday, Arizona received a commitment from Glendora (Calif.) Citrus Community College defensive back Dane Cruikshank.

The three-star product figures to bring a nice combination of physical and mental toughness.

He is also coming in highly motivated to justify the coaches’ confidence in him.

“Arizona just felt like the right place for me,” Cruikshank said. “I went down there on an unofficial visit a couple weeks ago and got to see the place and the program and it literally answered every possible question I had about the place.”

The coaches came in and put down the finishing touches.

“Once I started talking to the coaches, they really sold me that I can be a big contributor there," Cruikshank said.

"They think that with a couple of the seniors graduating I will be able to come in and play somewhere in the defensive backfield. I don’t want to let them down.”

Cruikshank believes the defense will fit his skill set.

“I’m ready to play," he said. "I’m a little older and I think playing in the league that I did will make me be able to come in and contribute in a few different ways.

“I can pretty much do whatever they need. I can get up and play bump and run or I can play off. I also have pretty good ball skills.

"I need to continue to get stronger, but I am working on that and I feel by the time I hit campus I will be at the weight that will allow me to play anywhere that the coaches need me to.”
