Of all the 2015 Wildcat commits, Fresno (Calif.) Roosevelt athlete Ricky McCoy looks to be as ready as any to make an immediate impact at the next level.
“The guys at Arizona love my game,” McCoy said. “They seriously think that I can play on either side of the ball and play soon. They always remark that my size and ability to move makes me a natural at either tight end or pass rusher.”
McCoy agrees with this take.
“I can move and have good hands, so I can definitely be a target out there, especially near the goal line," he said. "I can also use my quickness and strength to chase the quarterback.”
Although McCoy has long been committed to Arizona, he wants to consider his options.
“Arizona is definitely the leader right now," McCoy said. "They have been cool with me, but I just have to look at everything and make sure I’ve looked at every option.”
Two of those options seems to be Fresno State and Oregon.
“Fresno State is my home school and they have been pretty aggressive with me," McCoy said. "Playing in front of friends is something that any person would have to consider.
“Oregon is just Oregon. They are one of the handful of best programs in the country. They have one of the best offenses and when you see how things work on tape it’s really amazing.”
This is a recruitment that could play out into the foreseeable future.
“It’s tough because all of these schools are really good and a ton of kids would be really lucky to have these places recruit them," McCoy said. "I have stuff to think about.”
