Simon excited for future

Justin Simon is looking forward to his future at Arizona. Read on to see why that is and more.

Arizona commit Justin Simon was able to play this summer without any pressure, knowing that his future as a Wildcat is secure.

"I learned a lot," Simon said. "It is very different from high school. Most guys in AAU are the man on their high school teams and being surrounded by great players teaches me a lot and makes the game come easier.

"It was comfortable and I was able to play my natural game. Sean Miller and Damon Stoudamire do a great job of critiquing my game and I can't wait to play for them."

Simon's future role at Arizona is somewhat undefined, except for one specific item the coaching staff has told him.

"Coming in ready to play with great players," Simon said of his role. "I think once I get there my role will be more defined, but this is a great recruiting class and I am looking forward to playing with great players."

Simon will be joining numerous talented guards and he is looking forward to it.

"I would say I am a combo guard," he said. "We have great guards there with Parker, Kadeem and Allonzo coming in. I am willing to play with anybody and I am excited about it.

"The athleticism and versatility is crazy. It should be a good experience and I am looking forward to playing with them."

While watching Arizona numerous times this past sea on, Simon said that he was consistently struck by one thing.

"The defense is crazy," he said. "The game against Gonzaga really showed what defense can get you. They got to the Elite Eight and it shows how far defense can get you."
